Most often, roof problems are discovered once there is leaking or wall damage. Leaks inside your home are the most typical indications that your roof needs serious and immediate attention. Keep an eye out for discolored sheet rock/plaster, cracked paint, peeling wallpaper, or wet surfaces in attic areas and in your home’s upper floors. Not necessarily. Leaks can result for many other reasons such as flashing coming loose or localized sections of a roof that needs to be repaired. We recommend cleaning your gutters at least three times a year during the fall/winter, spring, & summer seasons. During the fall/winter season, there is the largest volume of debris from all of the abscission and snow. We do not recommend gutter guards/screens. After over 30 years in the business, we have discovered that it is almost impossible to have your gutters clog-free without having them cleaned regularly. Gutter guards/screens keep out big debris, but let a significant amount of small debris into the gutters. This debris naturally builds up and will cause your gutters to clog up over time. If you wait long enough you might even start to see some plants growing in your gutters, which could lead to plenty of other problems. We recommend installing gutter guards/screens for people that have many trees on or near their properties. In this case, we would install gutters guards/screens to prevent homeowners from having to clean out their gutters every day, especially during rainy seasons.
